The HONOR 600S is the latest addition to the HONOR 600 Series, featuring AI tools, a 108MP camera, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, and an 8,100mAh battery.
We spent some time using the HONOR 600S to see how these features perform in actual use, including its AI tools, gaming, camera, and battery life.
Here’s our experience with the device.
AI Image to Video 2.0
Yup, the AI Image-to-Video 2.0 that we saw on the HONOR 600 Series is also available on the HONOR 600S.
In case you didn’t know, AI Image-to-Video 2.0 lets you turn your photos into short videos using different prompts and templates. We’ll show you some samples later, so keep reading.
This AI feature can turn yourself into someone driving your dream car, an actor or actress, a ballet dancer, or pretty much anything you can imagine, simply by using a prompt.
Before we show you some of the AI Image-to-Video samples we created, here’s a quick look at how you can use the feature on your own HONOR 600S.
How to Use HONOR 600S’ AI Image-to-Video
There are two ways to access the AI Image-to-Video feature.
Option #1
- Open the Gallery.
- Tap Create.
- Select Image to Video.
Option #2
- Select a photo from the Gallery.
- Long-press, short-press, or double-press the phone’s AI button.
- Select the Image to Video suggestion.
The AI Image-to-Video feature offers free-form prompts, pre-set prompt templates with optimized settings, or automatic generation without a prompt.
What we like about the feature is that it gives ordinary photos a different purpose, especially when you start experimenting.
Here are some of the AI Image-to-Video 2.0 samples we created using the HONOR 600S.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 & MagicOS 10
Inside the HONOR 600S is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, which is a budget-focused mobile chipset.
It should handle casual games, while more demanding games may require lower graphics settings.
Speaking of gaming, we did some quick tests with competitive titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile.
The games run decently on this device. However, we recommend setting the graphics to low or medium for a smoother experience, as playing at the highest settings may result in lag.
On the other hand, HONOR’s MagicOS 10 brings a number of changes. One of the main additions is the deeper integration of HONOR AI into the operating system.
MagicOS 10 also introduces a refreshed interface with more translucent elements.
Another focus of MagicOS 10 is connectivity with Apple devices.
HONOR’s Onetap supports transferring photos, videos, files, contacts, and other information between supported HONOR devices and iPhones.
HONOR says supported NFC-equipped MagicOS 10 devices can work with iPhone 13 and later models running iOS 17 or later, although availability may vary by device and software version.
108MP Ultra-clear Night Camera with Built-in AI Editing
As for its camera performance, we will be focusing more on its night photography, since according to HONOR, the device offers a 108MP Ultra-clear Night Camera.
The camera does its job of brightening up darker areas. If we look at the image below, the grass and the shadows around the building are still visible without adding too much noise.
However, it struggles with strong light sources. Some of the photos here show noticeable lens flare.
Colors still look natural overall. The HONOR 600S is able to retain good colors even with mixed street lighting.
There are also built-in AI editing tools, and one of our favorite features is Magic Color. It lets you choose a photo with a color tone or style that you like and use it as a reference for your own photo.
The AI analyzes the reference image, then applies a similar color treatment to your photo with one tap.
We found it useful when trying different looks without having to adjust each setting manually. Instead of editing everything from scratch, you can simply pick a photo you like and see how the same style looks on your own shot.
Ultra-Large 8100 mAh Battery
When you hear that the HONOR 600S comes with an 8,100mAh battery, you would already expect it to last a long time. Sometimes, even more than enough to get through a full day of use.
Still, battery performance will depend on usage, hardware, and software factors, right?
In our experience, the HONOR 600 Smart can easily last around two days with moderate use. With heavier use, especially when gaming and using more demanding apps, the battery can still last around a day before needing a charge.
For typical day-to-day use, battery life is one of the phone’s stronger points, as you won’t need to constantly look for a charger.
Overall, the HONOR 600S offers a mix of AI features, everyday performance, and a large battery.
What we can say here is that the AI Image-to-Video 2.0 is one of the more interesting features to try, while the 8,100mAh battery provides enough capacity for extended daily use. Meanwhile, its performance is more suited for everyday tasks and lighter gaming.
