After experiencing a temporary outage caused by a surge in user activity, the eGovPH app has returned to normal operations.
According to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the agency said the disruption happened after a high number of users accessed the platform at the same time due to the rollout of new features, including the availability of the BIR Digital TIN ID in the app.
To prevent similar issues, the DICT said it is upgrading the system and is coordinating with the Department of Budget and Management and other agencies to support future expansion plans.
It is also worth noting that DICT officials clarified that the eGovPH App outage was not caused by a cyberattack or any data breach.
