WhatsApp Events Now Supports Non-Users

WhatsApp is rolling out updates to its Events feature, allowing users to invite people who do not have a WhatsApp account.

Users can now create an event, add a cover photo, and share an invitation link. People without WhatsApp can open the link, view the event details, and RSVP without downloading the app.

The update also introduces a new Events Home, where users can create invitations, manage RSVPs, set custom reminders, and allow guests to bring a plus one.

Users can access the feature by going to Settings > Events. The section will show a list of past and upcoming events, including those they created or were invited to.

WhatsApp also outlined privacy measures for the feature. A user’s phone number will not be visible to guests they do not know. Meanwhile, guests without a WhatsApp account will only see the event address after submitting their RSVP.

The updated Events feature is rolling out to all users over the coming weeks.
