GCash has officially introduced facial verification for GLoan.
The new feature uses a Selfie Scan to verify that the person applying for a loan is the account holder. It adds an extra layer of security, particularly for higher-risk transactions.
GCash has also expanded GLoan Protect with a new Loan Scam Insurance feature. Eligible users can receive up to PHP10,000 in coverage for losses linked to unauthorized account use, phishing, and similar incidents.
GLoan Protect also includes free health insurance for qualified users who borrow at least PHP500.
Coverage includes a daily hospitalization allowance of at least PHP500 per day, or up to 10% of the loan value, for hospital stays of at least three days.
Users can check their GLoan Protect status or file a claim through the GCash app by going to Explore the App > View All > GInsure > My GInsure.
