GCash is set to introduce a new feature this August that will allow users to link their Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards directly to the app.
Once available, users can choose a linked card as their payment source for Scan to Pay transactions. This means they can continue paying at participating stores even if their GCash wallet has little or no balance, without needing to cash in first.
Users will be able to link up to three Visa or Mastercard debit or credit cards to their GCash account.

The app will also let users set a default payment card and manage or remove linked cards at any time.
According to GCash, users can link a card by going to the Cash In section, selecting the option to link a debit or credit card, entering their card details, and completing the setup. After linking, the card can be selected as the payment method during eligible QR transactions.
The feature is expected to roll out this August.
