Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is planning to produce a new hybrid electric vehicle in the Philippines.
According to a news shared by Inquirer, the project will be based at the Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
The plan depends on the company’s application under the government’s upcoming Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS).

The company said it will upgrade its local facility to support the production of electrified vehicles. The move is also expected to expand the local supply chain and create jobs as part of the investment.
Company president Takao Kato said the Philippines remains an important market and production base for Mitsubishi, which operates in more than 80 countries.
Officials said the investment could position the Philippines as a potential exporter of hybrid vehicles in the future.

The EVIS program is expected to be released within the first half of 2026, while production is targeted to begin by mid-2028.
