We’re still a few months away from the reveal, and yet multiple rumors have been surfacing once again.
This time, Apple is reportedly preparing upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, including a higher-resolution front camera.
According to tipster Whylab, the Pro models will feature a 24MP selfie camera.
The iPhone 18 Pro series may also have a smaller Dynamic Island, with some Face ID components moving under the display.
Aside from that, a recent post by leaker Fixed Focus Digital indicates that Apple has begun mass-production testing for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

This stage, known as Production Validation Testing (PVT), allows Apple to check quality and assembly without full-scale production.
The testing reportedly includes the new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2nm process, and a mechanical variable aperture camera. The variable aperture adjusts like the human pupil, widening in low light and narrowing in bright conditions, which can improve image quality, natural bokeh, and macro shots.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September 2026. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 base model may follow in March 2027.

David Dzidzikashvili, PhD Candidate says:
Ah yes, the bold new era of innovation: iPhone 18 Pro Max — now featuring… wait for it… the same triple 48MP cameras. Revolutionary stuff. But don’t worry, they upgraded the selfie cam to 24MP so your mirror selfies can be a bit sharper while the rest of the phone remains comfortably familiar. And of course, there’s the brand-new A20 chip — because nothing says progress like slightly faster scrolling on the same Instagram feed.
Meanwhile, over in the “smaller competitor” corner, Vivo is casually planning dual 200MP cameras with an additional 50MP lens on the X300 Ultra — apparently forgetting that they’re supposed to wait three more years before trying to outdo the industry leaders. How inconsiderate.
Apple and Samsung seem to have perfected the art of annual déjà vu: same design, same camera layout, microscopic spec bump, dramatically higher price tag. But don’t question it — it’s courage. It’s refinement. It’s ecosystem synergy.
And of course, the keynote will tell us this is the “most advanced iPhone ever created.” Which is technically true every year, in the same way reheating yesterday’s pasta technically makes it the freshest version of itself.
Same phone. New wallpaper. Higher price.
Innovation at its finest. Bravo. 👏
