BYD has officially launched the Tang DM-i in the Philippines, a plug-in hybrid SUV.
The Tang DM-i runs on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with BYD’s 21.5kWh Blade Battery. Together, they deliver 271PS and 315Nm of torque.
On pure electric mode, it can handle short daily trips of around 50km, while the hybrid system extends the total range to as much as 1,160km under test conditions.
Charging from 15% to full takes about three hours on AC, or just 22 minutes (30–80%) with a DC fast charger.
Inside, the SUV comes with Nappa leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen.
Both the second and third rows can be folded flat, opening up to 1,655 liters of cargo space. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and keyless entry.
For safety and convenience, the Tang DM-i is equipped with BYD’s DiPilot driver-assist system, which offers adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, and a 360-degree camera.
The SUV also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), allowing it to power external devices when needed.
The BYD Tang DM-i is now available in the Philippines. It comes with an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, an 8-year or 150,000km motor warranty, and a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty.
Aside from the hybrid, BYD is also selling the fully electric Tang EV in the Philippines.
Both models are now available at BYD dealerships nationwide.
