Google Translate is rolling out updates to improve translations and language learning tools.
Using new Gemini AI capabilities, the service now offers more accurate translations, especially for idioms, slang, and other nuanced phrases.
The update is available in the U.S. and India, covering nearly 20 languages, including Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, and German.

Also, there is a new beta feature for live speech-to-speech translation lets users hear real-time translations through headphones.
The system preserves tone, emphasis, and cadence to make conversations, speeches, or media easier to follow.

The beta is currently available on Android in the U.S., Mexico, and India, supporting over 70 languages, with plans to expand to iOS and more countries in 2026.
The Translate app also adds improved language learning tools. Users can now get feedback on speaking practice and track learning streaks.

The Google Translate update is expanding to nearly 20 countries and supports translation between multiple language pairs, including English-German, English-Portuguese, Bengali-English, and more.
