Google has launched Project Sigma in the Philippines.
The Project Sigma is a program that aims to help local news organizations better connect with Gen Z audiences.
The program will select 10 news publishers to take part in a 10-week project where they will test new ways of creating and sharing news.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, Gen Z makes up nearly 29 million Filipinos, or about 25% of the country’s population.
The Philippines is the third Southeast Asian country to launch Project Sigma, following Malaysia and Indonesia.
Applications are open from June 29 to July 8, 2026.
