HMD has officially announced the launch date for the HMD Barbie Flip Phone, set for August 28, 2024.
This phone, part of the HMD Crest lineup, features iconic Barbie branding and a DIY development platform. Recently, it was spotted on the Elements Certification database with the model number TA-1681, confirming support for 5W charging.
The Barbie Flip Phone is rumored to be a rebranded Nokia 2660 Flip, which was originally launched in 2023. This new variant will come in a hot pink color, as seen in a teaser poster shared on the brand’s X handle, showcasing the “Barbie” branding on the cover screen.
The Nokia 2660 Flip featured a 2.8-inch display, hearing aid compatibility, support for India’s UPI digital scan and pay functionality, dual 4G SIM, VoLTE, and a 1450mAh battery. The HMD Barbie Flip Phone is expected to retain these specifications while offering a special edition design.
