Samsung Starts Galaxy S27 Production, Adds New Pro Model

Samsung has started mass production of some components for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series, with the lineup expected to expand to four models.

According to South Korean outlet ZDNet Korea, the Galaxy S27 series will include the Galaxy S27 (6.27-inch), Galaxy S27+ (6.66-inch), Galaxy S27 Pro (6.47-inch), and Galaxy S27 Ultra (6.89-inch).

The Galaxy S27 Pro is a new addition to the lineup. Samsung Display is also expected to begin mass production of OLED panels for the series this month.

The company is also expected to produce 200,000 to 300,000 OLED panels for the Galaxy S27 Pro by the end of 2026, followed by around 4 million to 5 million units in 2027.

Another change is the use of privacy displays. Unlike the Galaxy S26 series, where the feature was reportedly limited to the Ultra model, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are expected to use privacy display technology.

Samsung is also expected to reuse some components from the Galaxy S26 series for the Galaxy S27 lineup to help reduce manufacturing costs.

While the additional model could increase overall component production, the reuse of existing parts could affect the sales volume and profitability of some component suppliers.

The report also links the expanded Galaxy S27 lineup to changes in Apple’s iPhone release schedule. Apple is expected to spread its iPhone 18 lineup across different launch periods, including additional models in the first half of 2027.

Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy S27 series, so the reported specifications and production plans remain subject to change. Stay tuned.
