A recent survey by Milieu Insight reveals that 48% of Filipinos are considering using Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services for their upcoming purchases.
The study, spanning six Southeast Asian countries, involved 500 respondents in each nation, shedding light on the growing trend.
While 35% of Filipinos have already tried BNPL, slightly below the regional average of 41%, only 19% view the service positively, contrasting with the regional 39%. The majority 62% remains neutral, while 20% express a somewhat negative or very negative perception.
Discounts (71%), cashback (61%), and flexibility in installment plans (53%) are crucial factors for Filipinos when choosing BNPL services, mirroring regional preferences.
Interestingly, 46% prefer immediate payment completion, while 13% opt for settling payments in one month.
What could be the key motivator behind this emerging trend in the Filipino market?
