Microsoft is set to integrate a distilled version of DeepSeek R1 into Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs.
With that being said, this will allow developers to build AI applications that run efficiently on-device.
Unlike cloud-based AI models, this approach works without an internet connection, enhancing privacy by keeping data local.
The first devices to receive DeepSeek R1-based features will be those powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite chips.
These laptops, from brands like Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo come with NPUs capable of 45 TOPS, making them well-suited for AI processing.
Following this, Intel’s Core Ultra 200V devices will receive support.
Microsoft has yet to announce an exact release date. Stay tuned!
