MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9500, its latest flagship mobile platform designed for high-end 5G smartphones.
The chip brings improvements in performance, gaming, AI, and power efficiency, with the first devices powered by it expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 uses a new “All Big Core” CPU design with one ultra-fast 4.21GHz core, three premium cores, and four performance cores.
This setup makes it up to 29% faster in single-core tasks and 16% faster in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor, while cutting peak power use by 55% for longer battery life.
It’s also the first chip to support 4-channel UFS 4.1 storage, doubling read and write speeds. This means apps, especially AI tools, load much quicker, up to 40% faster. A new memory system and smarter task scheduler keep the phone more responsive under heavy use.
For graphics, the Arm G1-Ultra GPU delivers 33% more power and 42% better efficiency, with support for 120FPS frame interpolation, real-time ray tracing, and advanced Unreal Engine features like Nanite and MegaLights for highly detailed visuals.
AI performance also gets a big leap thanks to the ninth-generation MediaTek NPU 990 with Generative AI Engine 2.0. It uses up to 40% less energy, handles large language models more smoothly, and even supports 4K image generation.
On the imaging side, the integrated Imagiq 1190 ISP can process photos up to 200MP, enable AI autofocus and RAW pre-processing, and record 4K 60FPS portrait video.
Connectivity is equally advanced, with 5CC carrier aggregation for faster 5G, AI-assisted Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and smart network tools designed to reduce lag and improve reliability..
