According to reports, Apple is planning to add a new high-end laptop to its MacBook lineup, tentatively called the MacBook Ultra.

The MacBook Ultra will allegedly be positioned above the MacBook Pro, with an early 2027 launch window. It will join the current MacBook lineup, including the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.
Reports suggest that the MacBook Ultra’s display will have a major upgrade and will sport an OLED panel, compared to the Mini LED panels used in current Pro models. This could provide deeper blacks, greater contrast, and better overall image. Additionally, OLED displays are thinner, which may enable Apple to slightly lower the device’s thickness.
The upcoming top-end laptop is rumored to add a touchscreen feature. Its notch could also be revamped, replacing it with a smaller punch-hole cutout.
In terms of the processor, it is expected to run on M6 Pro and M6 Max chips built on a 2nm process, which could improve both speed and efficiency. Meanwhile, reports also claim that it will incorporate a built-in cellular support through Apple’s own modem, bringing 5G and LTE connectivity to a MacBook for the first time.
Other than that, ports like HDMI, MagSafe, and the SD card slot will likely remain.
Apple has yet to confirm official information about the upcoming laptop. However, if Apple pushes this through, the MacBook Ultra will be a new high-end addition to the laptop market.
Stay tuned for more updates.
