After updating its MacBook Air two months ago, Apple is back again but with the new MacBook Pro 13″ model. The 2020 version has a starting price of P74,990 in the Philippines. Compared to last year’s model, the new one now supports 32GB RAM at a very fast 3733MHz, twice the storage for the base model, the new Magic Keyboard that replaces the broken butterfly keys, and up to 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor. You have to spend P104,990 if you want faster RAM, the latest CPU, and four Thunderbolt 3 ports, which is unfortunate. And unlike the MacBook Air 2020, there’s no gold color option here.
Breaking down the available models on Apple’s website, the base model comes with an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor paired with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645. While the RAM now starts at 8GB, the speed is only 2133Mhz. The storage is now 256GB out of the box, however. If you want the 512GB model, you have to spend P86,990 which is typical of Apple when it comes to price upgrades.
