For their affordable suggested retail price, both remain solid and attractive phones.

Winner: Tie

Display

Flaunting on front of Lumia 640XL is a 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD display with ClearBlack technology of Microsoft. Picture quality is brighter and colors are more accurate compared to the 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD of K3 Note.

Outdoor test also proved that the ClearBlack on Lumia made the display more readable and reliable outside.

Winner: Lumia 640XL

Camera

Deciding on which camera is better is quite hard. The Lumia 640XL utilizes a 13MP main camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Its images are sharp and bright even in low light and night scenes. It struggle a bit in color accuracy but we guess this is due to the software algorithms which could be remedied by software update.

The K3 Note images and videos are softer than Lumia 640XL, we like the daylight shots but the low light and night shots are too underexposed.

Speaker

Lumia 640XL beats the Lenovo K3 Note in terms of speaker quality and power. Though the sound quality on K3 Note is clear, speaker on 640XL remain more balanced and volume is louder.

Winner: Lumia 640XL

Price, Verdict

We didn’t include a performance test because the Windows Phone platform lacks benchmark apps. By figures, the Lenovo K3 Note has more power over the Lumia, thanks to the MediaTek 6752 octacore chipset and 2GB RAM.

Lenovo K3 Note is also few thousands cheaper, but if you are going for single SIM 3G-only model of Lumia 640XL, then you could get it near to K3 Note’s price too.

If you are a power-user then the K3 Note is the right choice for you, but if you want a better camera and smoother software experience then go for Microsoft Lumia 640XL.
