If your smartphone budget is around PHP 38,000 or more, we’ve got the right two right devices for you. Both a 6-inch phablet, we pit the Galaxy S8 Plus against the recently released LG V30 to find out which PHP 38,000 is more worth it.
P.S. We didn’t compare the V30 to the Note 8 since PHP 50,000 is just too much.
LG V30
While the V30 sports a 6-inch screen, the S8 Plus is taller cause it has a 6.2-inch screen. The V30 features a QHD OLED screen while the S8 Plus has a Super AMOLED. There’s no much argument since both are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and are rated IP86 water and dust resistant. Both also have an Edge Screen feature which is called as the movable Floating Bar for the V30.
Galaxy S8 Plus
Both the S8 Plus and V30 are powered with Snapdragon 835 paired with an Adreno 540. Both offer a 4GB RAM/64GB ROM as well. Yet unlike the V30, the S8 Plus has a 6GB RAM/128GB model.
In terms of rear camera, the V30 has the upper hand. Not only does it has a dual camera setup of 16MP + 13MP, but it is the first smartphone to have a f/1.6 aperture on its camera. The V30 also offers more camera modes than the S8 Plus. The S8 Plus’ 12MP rear with f/1.7 gives decent images as well. Check out our S8 Plus camera samples here.
LG V30
Up front, the S8 Plus seem to take the lead due to its 8MP with f/1.7. The V30’s front camera features a 5MP with f/2.2. Speaking of audio, the V30 snatches the score due to its 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC with MQA file format support. The S8 Plus, on the other hand, supports 32-bit/384kHz audio. Yes, both also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Apple Lover says:
I would rather buy Xiaomi Mi6, Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM dual cameras same with Note 8, with only 28,990.00 Php than an obsolete LGv30 with below standard specs.
