
The LG G7 ThinQ just launched here in the Philippines today. It is LG’s latest flagship phone which boasts of its audio performance. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S launched in the Philippines this May. This device sports a full-screen display as well as wireless charging.
In terms of hardware, the two share a lot of similarities. With the two sporting the same chipset, which of them is worth buying more? Let’s find out here.

The LG G7 ThinQ features a larger screen with 6.1″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S sports a 5.99″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Both smartphones are protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass although unlike the LG G7 ThinQ which is supported by Gorilla Glass 5, the Mi MIX 2S is only supported by Gorilla Glass 4. Looking at the specs, the LG smartphone has the larger screen but this doesn’t mean that its display is better. One of the main features of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is its full-screen design with almost non-existent bezels.
Under the hood, the two has a lot of similarities. Both seem to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 as well as have an Adreno 630 GPU. Although, in terms of storage, the two are different. The LG G7 ThinQ contains 6GB of RAM + 128 GB internal storage and 4GB of RAM + 64 GB internal storage. On the other hand, the Mi MIX 2S has a larger storage option of 6GB of RAM + 64/128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In order to make up for this, the storage of the LG smartphone is expandable via a microSD card.
In terms of their camera setup, the two smartphones feature dual rear lenses. The LG G7 ThinQ sports a dual 16MP + 16MP rear camera whereas the Mi MIX 2S only sports a 12MP + 12MP dual main camera. In addition, the LG device has an 8MP front camera and the Xiaomi smartphone has a 5MP selfie snapper. According to their specs, the LG G7 ThinQ shoud have the better camera although we would have to do a camera comparison between the two to know for sure.
As for battery, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has the bigger battery with 3400mAh whereas the LG G7 ThinQ has a 3000mAh battery. Unlike the LG G7 ThinQ here in the Philippines, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has wireless charging. The LG G7 ThinQ U.S. version is the only one that supports wireless charging.
