Leica M EV1 now in PH, priced at PHP 544,000

Leica Store Philippines has officially launched the Leica M EV1 in the Philippines. It is the first M camera with an integrated electronic viewfinder (EVF) instead of the iconic Optical rangefinder.

The Leica M EV1 sports a full metal housing made of magnesium and aluminum with a diamond-pattern leatherette cover. However, it is not weather-sealed and has no IP rating.

The camera comes with a Leica M bayonet mount with 6-bit encoding sensors, equipped with a 60MP BSI CMOS Triple-resolution full-frame sensor, and is powered by a Maestro III processor. There’s also a 5.76MP OLED EVF with a 60Hz refresh rate on the back.

It supports 0.76x magnification and a -4 to +2 diopter. Additionally, it is also equipped with a 3-inch 2.36M-dot fixed LCD touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The Leica M EV1 has a 64GB internal memory with a single UHS-II card slot found inside the battery compartment. Found at the bottom is the pop-out 1,800mAh Li-ion battery, which is CIPA rated for 237 shots per charge with live view via the EVF.

It charges via USB-C, which can be found beside the battery slot, and also supports file transfers. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Users can also download the Leica FOTOS app.

Leica integrates content authentication through its own Content Credentials, which use hashes and signatures similar to those found in online banking to incorporate tamper-proof and verifiable metadata.

For dimensions, the camera measures 139 x 80 x 38mm. Meanwhile, it weighs 495 grams with the battery.

The Leica M EV1 is priced at PHP 544,000 and is now available through the Leica Store in Greenbelt 5, Makati.
