Leaked Live Images Reveal Google Pixel 8a with Curved Edge Design

Google’s Pixel 8 line of high-end smartphones is almost ready to go on sale. The Pixel 8 lineup will be shown off on October 4, 2023.

The company is also likely to release the cheaper Pixel 8a later, in addition to the more expensive versions. Now, a new leak shows how the Pixel 8a model will look, so let’s take a look.

The news came from Abhishek Yadav, who is known for giving inside information. He showed live pictures of the new device on X (formerly Twitter).

From the pictures, we can see that the Pixel 8a comes in a bright blue color. In the tweet, Abhishek said that the Pixel 8a’s code name is Akita and that it will be driven by Google’s own Tensor G3 SoC. We can see the tablet from the side, the front, and the back in the live pictures that got out.

On the front, there is a punch hole cutout in the middle for the selfie camera, and there are clear edges around the screen.

The Google Pixel 8a also has curved edges, which is worth mentioning. This brings its look more in line with the Pixel 8 series’ other phones.

The power button and volume rockers are on the right side. The Pixel 8a keeps the same visor camera module design as the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a models, just like the previous series of phones.

Keep in mind that these leaked images should be taken with a grain of salt, as they might show a prototype of the Google Pixel 8a.

The official launch of the Pixel 8a is still a bit in the future, possibly around the same time as the Pixel 7a, which was released in May 2023.
