Lamborghini Teases Upcoming Electric Supercar on Instagram

Lamborghini

Lamborghini has released a teaser picture of a new car that will be shown off on August 18. In a recent post on Instagram, the Italian car company said, “Something new and truly thrilling is about to be unveiled.”

The Teaser Doesn’t Offer Further Vehicle Specifics

This news comes right after the company said it would show a concept for an electric car (EV) during Monterey Car Week. Since August 18 is in that time frame, it seems likely that this could be the first time we see Lamborghini’s new electric car.

The video gives an interesting look at the shape of the car. Lamborghini is known for its sharp edges and sharp lines, but this car has smooth lines and softer edges. These design details could be a mix of the brand’s standard style and shapes that are common in electric vehicles and help reduce drag.

This electric concept car was once called the “first prototype of our fourth series production car,” and Lamborghini fans have been excitedly waiting for it. The company revealed plans for a 2+2 grand tourer in July 2023.

CEO Stephan Winkelmann stressed that this car would be “much more usable on a daily basis.” This is different from models like the Huracan or the new Revuelto, and it is also important to note that it is not an SUV.

The teaser doesn’t say much about the size or design of the car. Key features, like whether or not it will have back seats like the production version, are still being kept secret.

In terms of how it works, the EV shares parts with other cars made by the Volkswagen Group. Lamborghini has done this before, as the Urus shares a base with the Audi Q7, the Bentley Bentayga, and the Porsche Cayenne.
