Apple is reportedly developing a second-generation iPhone Air that could launch next year.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device is internally known as V62 and may arrive in spring 2027.
The upcoming model is expected to keep the thin design of the current iPhone Air while addressing some of its limitations.
One of the reported upgrades is the addition of an ultra-wide rear camera. The current iPhone Air has a single 48MP camera, and the new model is said to add a second 48MP sensor for more photography options.

The iPhone Air 2 is also rumored to feature Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which is expected to power the future iPhone 18 Pro models.
Apple is also reportedly working to improve battery life.
Reports also suggest Apple may continue splitting iPhone launches into two release periods. Under this strategy, the iPhone 18 Pro models and a foldable iPhone could debut in late 2026, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 may launch several months later in 2027.
Apple has not officially announced the device or confirmed any of the reported specifications.
