The first of its type, the iPhone 14 Plus is simply an improved but more costly version of the original iPhone 14. We thus made the decision to respond to this question in this article. Additionally, as you may already be aware, this year’s lineup has more significant variations between the Pro versions and the non-Pro variants. Design

The design of the iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the primary distinction between them. The latter is the first iPhone with a pill-shaped punch hole, while the former has the old notch seen in the prior generation. This method gives it a much more intriguing and futuristic appearance, but there are other benefits as well. With a glass back and a stainless steel frame, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a superior build quality to the Plus model, which features an aluminum frame in place of stainless steel. There are two distinct camera modules on the back, with additional sensors in the Pro Max model. With the IP68 certification, you may submerge either of these phones for up to 30 minutes at a time without causing any damage.

Display

These two phones have cutting-edge screens. Their diagonal is precisely the same, measuring 6.7 inches. For the first time, the iPhone portfolio features two models with 6.7-inch diagonal displays. They have somewhat varying resolutions but are nonetheless Super Retina XDR OLED panels (slightly higher on the Pro Max). The iPhone 14 Pro Max triumphs primarily for two reasons. The first is that LTPO technology is present, while Plus stops at the conventional 60Hz refresh rate, and has an adjustable refresh rate that can go up to 120Hz. Additionally, the Pro Max has a brighter output of up to 2,000 nits. Even the Always-On Display functionality is supported. These phones lack fingerprint scanners, in contrast to Android phones, but they do include hardware sensors for Face ID, which enables 3D face identification, on the top portion of the display.

Specs & Performance

Even the chipsets on the various iPhone models this year vary. The new Apple A16 Bionic SoC, manufactured using a 4 nm manufacturing process and operating at a maximum frequency of 3.46 GHz, powers the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Apple A15 Bionic, the same processor as the iPhone 13 series, is still included with the iPhone 14 Plus. It is a chip with a maximum frequency of 3.22 GHz that was manufactured using a 5 nm manufacturing technique. Both phones come with a 5-core custom GPU and 6GB of RAM, however, the Pro Max offers up to 1TB of internal storage, and the Plus only offers 512GB. iOS 16 is the installed operating system.

Camera

The camera on the iPhone 14 Pro Max receives a significant boost. It includes four sensors on the back, including a primary camera with an incredible 48MP, sensor-shift OIS, and dual-pixel phase detection autofocus. The phone’s camera can record more detail because of it. A 12MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view is combined with the 48MP camera. Unfortunately, the iPhone 14 Plus’ primary camera still uses a 12MP sensor from the prior model. Furthermore, this model only has a 12MP secondary ultrawide camera and does not include a telephoto sensor. These phones have a front-facing 12MP selfie camera with an f/1.9 aperture and built-in 3D face recognition sensors.

Battery
These two phones have nearly identical battery capacities, however, they do not offer the same battery life. Apple claims that the iPhone 14 Plus has the best battery life of any iPhone model ever. However, given the phones are still available for pre-order, we have yet to have an opportunity to test them. They support MagSafe technology with a power of 15W, Qi wireless charging, and 29W fast charging, which charges the battery from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes.
Price & Availability

The iPhone 14 Pro Max costs $1099 (around Php 62,719) in the US, while the Plus costs $899 (roughly Php 51309). (prices vary depending on the markets). Pre-orders are being accepted for both smartphones. Which would you choose?
