iPhone 11 Series Launched

The all-new iPhone 11 Series is out! It features Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The price starts at $699USD or P36k for the iPhone 11. While the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max come with $999USD or nearly P52k and $1099USD or P57k prices, respectively. Pre-order starts on September 13 with availability beginning September 20 for customers in more than 30 countries including the US.

While the naming scheme is easier to remember now, it’s still a mouthful to say. All three new phones come with the latest and most powerful smartphone chipset in A13 Bionic. The company is claiming the fastest GPU in a chipset, too. Although the Pro models come in Gold, Space Gray, Silver, and new Midnight Green, the non-pro model comes in White, Green, Yellow, Product Red, Black, and Purple.

Design-wise, we’re looking at the same notch with faster Face ID and 12MP f2.2 selfie camera that can record 4K @ 60fps and do slo-mo natively via the camera app. Like last year’s iPhones, the build is IP68 water and dust resistant. All said, let’s get down to each exclusive feature.

iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max Features

iPhone 11 Pro Max

For the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, the display sizes clock in at 5.8″ and 6.5″, respectively. Featuring all-new Super Retina XDR OLED display, this allows users to experience up to 1200nits of peak brightness and an incredible 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. But what makes the technology interesting is that it saves up to 50% battery life compared to last year’s iteration. The 11 Pro lasts 4 hours longer vs Xs while the 11 Pro Max stretches it to 5 hours vs Xs Max Pro. This is a significant improvement given the disappointing battery life of iPhone Xs Series. Although 3D touch is now gone, haptic touch is still here.

As per usual, Apple’s latest A13 Bionic continues to be the industry leader in both CPU & GPU performance. Combine that with iOS 13 and you pretty much have the best iOS experience. That said, the real highlight belongs to the cameras.

On the back are three 12MP sensors. First is the standard wide-angle, second is an ultrawide, and third is the telephoto that goes up to 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. Except for the ultrawide lens, the other two lenses are optically stabilized. Finally, night mode is already available on iOS 13 and shows promising output.

If you’re worried about the difference in the quality of each lens, don’t be as Apple made sure to deliver the same video and photo quality. In fact, you can record a video while seamlessly switching lenses. And as a bonus, thru an app called Filmic Pro, you can record video using up to two lenses at the same time.

iPhone 11 — Successor of iPhone XR

In the case of iPhone 11, the display makes use of a 6.1″ Liquid Retina HD LCD. With a 1792×828 resolution, the display outputs 326ppi. While it’s not as impressive as Super Retina XDR, it still delivers 625 nits of peak brightness, true tone, and P3 wide color gamut. Compared to the iPhone XR, the main camera now uses two 12MP sensors — one is ultrawide wide and the other is a standard wide that also goes up to 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. However, optical stabilization is only available via the 12MP main sensor.

For all iPhone 11 models, the base storage is 64GB. As for the non-pro model, other options include 128GB and 256GB. As for the pro models, the other options are 256GB and 512GB. Last but definitely not least, Apple iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are shipping with 18W fast charger.
