Infinix ZERO Flip Review

Infinix has entered the flip phone market with its first model, the Infinix Zero Flip.

I’m pretty sure many of us have dreamed of owning a flip smartphone, right? But their prices have often been far out of reach.

Thankfully, Infinix has delivered a more affordable option. While not exactly cheap, it is more budget-friendly than most of its competitors.

Today, let’s dive into what the Zero Flip has to offer and see if it’s worth your money.

Design

IMG 5 1

The Infinix Zero Flip boasts a sleek design with a matte-finished back panel, complemented by a cover screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The matte finish resists fingerprints effectively, although the cover screen is still prone to smudges.

The device feels solid in hand, but flipping it open one-handed can be tricky due to its firm hinges.

In terms of size, it weighs 195g and measures 7.6mm thick when unfolded and 16mm when folded.

To add protection, the device comes with a case that covers the bottom panel and the edges of the cover screen. The bottom section of the case includes a handle, providing extra security when holding the phone. However, this case adds a bit of bulk and weight.

As for the ports, the volume rocker and power button are on the right, while the SIM tray, USB-C port, and speaker grille are located at the bottom.

While the design is compact and functional, it’s worth noting that the device lacks an IP rating, so it’s best to handle it with care around water or dust.

Display

The Infinix Zero Flip features a 3.64-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. The cover screen is capable of running smaller versions of apps like YouTube and the camera, as well as a simple JumpUp game.

Flipping the phone open reveals its 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2640, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Unlike the cover screen, the inner display doesn’t have added protection, so extra care is advised. The crease in the foldable screen is barely noticeable during use but can be felt when swiping.

Both displays deliver vibrant colors and smooth performance thanks to their high refresh rates. However, they’re not the best for outdoor use due to glare, but they perform well enough for most situations.

Cameras

The Zero Flip is equipped with a dual rear camera system, consisting of a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is also a 50MP shooter.

The rear cameras produce impressive images with accurate color reproduction and a wide dynamic range. While daylight photography yields sharp and detailed results, low-light performance can vary. In well-lit environments, images can sometimes have blown-out highlights, but overall, they perform well when used carefully.

Now for the front camera delivers detailed and sharp selfies with natural skin tones. However, results can be inconsistent depending on the lighting. Using the rear cameras for selfies improves sharpness and detail.

The rear camera supports 4K recording at 30fps with Ultra Steady mode, while the selfie camera can record at 4K/60fps, though without stabilization.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Infinix Zero Flip is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB) and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on XOS 14.5, based on Android 14, with promised support for up to three years of security updates and an upgrade to Android 16.
