With the successful launch of the Huawei Pura 70 Series and the upcoming Mate 70 series in October, along with the HarmonyOS Next operating system arriving in September, Huawei is doing great in 2024! They’re investing a lot, $1.6 billion, in a big chip plant in Shanghai. Plus, they’re working with Toyota on a new driving solution. Huawei is really on a roll this year!

Huawei‘s HiSilicon division is back in action. They’re known for their Kirin chips and they’re doing well again. According to the latest Canalys data, they shipped a lot, 8 million Kirin chips, in the first quarter of 2024, making $6 billion. Meanwhile, Google only sold 2 million of its chips, earning $2 billion.

On the other hand, Samsung sold a lot, 18 million units, earning $9 billion, while MediaTek shipped a huge 114 million units, though they made less money, $23 billion. Qualcomm is not far behind, selling 75 million chips and earning $37 billion this quarter.

Although Huawei HiSilicon only has a small part of the market, just 2.7% in Q1 2024, it’s still a good start!
