Super Core Kirin Chip
According to Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu, the upcoming Mate 70 series is expected to deliver a significant performance boost, thanks to a new Super Core Kirin Chip.
While details about this Super Core Kirin Chip are still under wraps, it’s speculated that Huawei might introduce an advanced core configuration specifically for the Mate 70. Earlier rumors hinted at impressive benchmark scores for the Kirin chip, potentially exceeding 1.1 million points, putting it in competition with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Though specifics are still lacking, the buzz suggests a substantial performance leap for Huawei’s next flagship.
Adding to the anticipation, there’s talk of the Mate 70 launching around the same time as the iPhone 16 series later this year. An October or September release is rumored, setting up a potential head-to-head showdown between these tech giants.
On the software front, the Mate 70 is expected to be the first device to come with Huawei’s new HarmonyOS NEXT. Unlike previous versions, this OS will no longer support Android apps but already boasts over 4000 native apps from Chinese developers, with more on the way.
Why the switch? Huawei is fully committing to HarmonyOS, focusing on their own apps and dropping Android support.
Moreover, Huawei plans to roll out HarmonyOS globally, intending to expand its native app collection throughout 2024. And guess what? Developers can already test drive HarmonyOS NEXT.
Additionally, reports indicate that Huawei is ramping up production for the Mate 70, aiming to boost supply by 40-50% compared to the Mate 60 series. Keep in mind that these details are based on leaks and rumors.
Could the Mate 70 be the game-changer in the smartphone market this year?
