HUAWEI introduced several new devices at its Asia-Pacific launch event in Bangkok, Thailand.
Headlining the event was the new HUAWEI Pura 80 Series, which includes the Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Series.
These devices feature a dual telephoto camera system and large sensor technology for improved mobile photography.
Also, just like the launch event in Europe, HUAWEI also revealed the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition (2025).
The launch was held at One Bangkok Forum and included product showcases, photography zones, and hands-on demonstrations.
HUAWEI also hosted the XMAGE APAC photography event, which displayed photo entries from the region. It was announced that the global XMAGE Awards and Exhibition will return to Paris later this year.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra features the industry’s first switchable dual telephoto camera with 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom, backed by a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
It also includes advanced low-light capabilities, HDR features, and durable Kunlun Glass. The HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro shares similar imaging features, including a 1-inch sensor and macro telephoto camera.
The MatePad 11.5-inch (2025) offers a PaperMatte display, magnetic keyboard, and access to PC-level WPS Office. It is aimed at students and professionals looking for portable productivity.
HUAWEI also announced new AI features, such as gesture controls, message previews, and an upcoming photo editing tool that removes unwanted objects using generative technology.

In Thailand, the HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro is available in 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, it is priced at THB38,990 (approx. PHP68,899). Meanwhile, the HUAWEI Pura 8 Ultra is available in a larger 16GB RAM and 512GB ROM, available at THB49,990 (approx. PHP88,299)
As for its local availability, HUAWEI Philippines has officially announced the the Pura 80 Series will launch in the country on August 7, 2025. Stay tuned for more details!
