HUAWEI has announced the Mate 90 Series, consisting of the HUAWEI Mate 90 and HUAWEI Mate 90 Pro Max.
HUAWEI Mate 90
The HUAWEI Mate 90 features a 6.75-inch OLED display with a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. It has a resolution of 2832 × 1280 pixels and uses third-generation Kunlun Glass.
For cameras, the Mate 90 features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP super-zoom camera with OIS, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS. It also includes HUAWEI’s third-generation Red Maple original color camera system. The rear camera supports up to 100x digital zoom and 4K video recording.
On the front, it has a 13MP ultra-wide-angle selfie camera with autofocus and a 3D depth sensing camera.
Under the hood, the device runs on the Kirin 9030 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. It runs on HarmonyOS 7.0.
The phone packs a 6,600mAh battery with support for up to 66W wired HUAWEI SuperCharge, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging features.
For durability, the Mate 90 comes with IP68 water and dust resistance, along with IP69 protection against high-temperature and high-pressure water spray.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI Mate 90 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display with a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. It has a resolution of 2848 × 1320 pixels and uses third-generation Kunlun Glass, while the Collector’s Edition uses Xuanwu Kunlun Glass.
The Pro Max model is powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, while some variants also use the Kirin 9050. It comes with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
For photography, the device features a 50MP ultra-high dynamic range main camera with OIS, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and a 200MP telephoto camera with OIS and telephoto macro support. It also includes the third-generation Red Maple original color camera system, with support for up to 100x digital zoom and 4K video recording.
The front camera setup remains similar, with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 3D depth sensing camera.
The Mate 90 Pro Max is equipped with a 6,800mAh battery and supports up to 100W wired HUAWEI SuperCharge, 50W wireless charging, and up to 18W wired reverse charging.
It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

HUAWEI has yet to announce the global availability and pricing details of the Mate 90 Series. There is also no word yet on its local launch.
