Huawei might be leaving Google behind for the foreseeable feature of its devices, including smartphones, but that’s not going to stop the company from releasing them. Posted via Huawei Philippines’ Facebook page, the Chinese firm revealed that it will launch Mate 30 Pro 5G in the country. Compared to the 4G model of the same phone, the chipset uses Kirin 990 based on 7nm+ EUV that features a built-in 5G Balong 5000 modem. The higher-end SoC allows for longer 5G battery life aside from faster upload and download speeds.
The rest of the specs remain, however, like the 6.53″ HDR10 OLED, EMUI 10 based on Android 10, 40MP Leica Quad cameras, 32MP dual-selfie cameras, and 4500mAh battery. Although we don’t have any clue about the price of the 5G model, to give context, Mate 30 Pro 4G is available for P50,990 right now. A day after the teaser, the company has announced that the first 5G phone in the Philippines will be available starting February 8 for P55,990. Mate 30 Pro 5G comes in leather orange only. Purchasing the device will get you free Huawei CM510 speaker via Lazada. For concept stores, you’ll get free 50GB Huawei Cloud Storage for 3 months and 1,200 Huawei points.
Since 5G coverage is limited in the country, you can only take advantage of faster network speed if you’re in Makati or Clark. If you need 5G SIM cards, Smart has started selling them a few days ago.
