The Taiwanese corporation was able to release 11 smartphones for 2016, however, due to weak sales, they decided to launch 6-7 smartphones for 2017.
According to Chialin Chang, the President of Smartphone and Connected Devices Business, launching fewer smartphones will allow them to focus on the core features of their upcoming smartphones.
One of the core features that was mentioned is the HTC Sense Companion. Chang cited “we’re not trying to emphasize A.I.” but rather a companionship.
As for the HTC 11(the successor to HTC 10), it won’t be launching this year as there will be no such name. So we might be expecting a new name and a competitive flagship phone.
