Changing a WiFi password is essential, especially if there are tons of devices that are connected to your WiFi connection or if you wanted to kick a neighbor out of your network that is connected without your consent. They can slow down your connection because often times they are hogging your bandwidth. If you are a new Converge ICT user, changing your default password that comes with the box is a must, so that you can avoid and prevent hackers from guessing your PIN using patterns or common passwords. But whatever reason you may have, here is a quick guide on you can change your converge WiFi password.
How to Change Converge WiFi Password
Step 1. Visit this URL: http://192.168.1.1 on your smartphone or desktop browser. On the login page, type in your username and password. Usually, by default, the username, and password are both set to “user”
Step 2. Navigate to the networks tab and click the “WLAN Radio2.4G” or “WLAN Radio5G” or either one that you want to change the password. After clicking them, head to the security tab.
Step 3. Type in your new password in the “WPA Passphrase” section. Then click submit. Make sure to use a strong password so that you can prevent others from hacking into your connection.
Step 4. If your password is weak or not secure enough, it will give a prompt in which you can change it if you click and continue with it if you click confirm.
Step 5. If you finalize your password, your router should restart with the new password applied.
“Your Connection is Not Private”
Don’t worry if you received this message since this one is actually normal, especially in modern browsers. If you’re using Google Chrome, click “Advanced” at then click “Proceed to 192.168.1.1 (unsafe).” to proceed to the WiFi admin page.
The IP 192.168.1.1 doesn’t work?
If the mentioned link for the router is not working, may be because your router is using a different IP address. In order for you to check your default IP link, here is how:
Windows – Open CMD on your desktop computer and type in “ipconfig”. Your IP address is placed on the “Default Gateway” which normally looks like this 192.168.X.X.
Mac – As for mac users, Go to System Preferences > Network > WiFi > Advanced > TCP/IP.
Changing WiFi password via Android or iOS
If it turns out that you don’t have a desktop available at the moment for you to change your WiFi password, don’t worry since the method that we showed earlier works the same way when done on a smartphone. Just open up any browser and follow the same steps.
I Can’t access My Converge WiFi admin page.
You already used the right IP address as a URL but you still can’t access your WiFi admin settings? Chances are, you are not connected to your Converge modem. So make sure that you are connected to an external WiFi router or even a WiFi extender.
I can’t sign in to my Converge WiFi modem’s admin settings.
The default username and password are printed at the modem itself, usually at the bottom or at the back. If it didn’t work, you can reset your WiFi modem altogether by pressing the Reset button.
I can’t connect to my Converge WiFi router using my new password.
Once you have changed your password, go to your device’s WiFi settings > click on the WiFi network with the password you just changed > tap “Forget Network” > then sign in again with the new password.
If this still doesn’t work, maybe because you are remembering a different password, or you mistyped it. If it still doesn’t work, you might have to change your password again so follow the steps again.

How to change my WiFi admin username on Converge?
Unfortunately, you can’t. There is no way for you to change your Converge WiFi admin username. This won’t be much of a problem since having a strong and unique admin password is enough to keep your modem safe.
