HONOR is back with its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the HONOR X7c. It also has practical perks, like splash resistance with an IP64 rating. So, is this a solid choice in today’s market? Let’s take a closer look.
Starting with the design, our review unit in Forest Green looks and feels more premium than you’d expect at this price point.
HONOR opted for a matte finish on the back, which mimics the feel of leather and offers a secure grip—something you’ll appreciate in daily use.
At 194 grams and 8.09mm thick, it’s a comfortable hold without feeling bulky. Plus, the IP64 rating means it’s resistant to dust and minor splashes, adding a layer of confidence. It can also handle some drop tests since it comes with a 5-star drop resistance from SGS.
The HONOR X7c features a 6.77-inch HD+ TFT LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate—perfect for scrolling and basic media use.
Colors are crisp, and viewing angles are decent, although outdoor visibility might be limited with its 850-nits peak brightness.
While it’s not Full HD, the display should serve most casual users well.
On the back, you’ll find a dual-camera setup with a 108MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The primary camera delivers decent outputs with good details and sharpness. It has a wide dynamic range and decent color reproduction.
However, there are times when outputs tend to have oversaturated results and deep shadows.
For selfies, an 8MP front camera captures true-to-life skin tones with decent sharpness and details.
However, in a low-light environment, outputs tend to have soft details, so for better results, I recommend taking selfies with proper lighting.
As for its performance and software, the HONOR X7c is powered by a Snapdragon 685 chip paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
It can handle multitasking with a snappy response time. During our time with this device, we rarely encountered any stutter when navigating it or scrolling through social media.
It delivers decent gaming performance when playing Mobile Legends. We never encountered any frame drops or stuttering during our playthrough.
For more detailed results, here are some of its benchmark results.
Battery-wise, the HONOR X7c has a whopping 6000mAh battery capacity, which is impressive for its price. It is also paired with 35W of wired charging.
During our video loop test, it lasted for about 16 hours and 23 minutes. Charging from 0 to 100% took us around one hour and 30 minutes, which is longer than we are used to. But still, thanks to its big battery, you get a long battery life.
Overall, the HONOR X7c is priced at PHP8,999 for the 8GB plus 256GB configuration and is a solid entry-level device with an impressive design and, most importantly, a durable build quality.
I recommend taking care of your devices since they can still break. It is quite a bummer since it only comes with an HD+ display. It’s not a bad thing, though. It’s just that most consumers are used to having a high-resolution smartphone.
