The last time we discussed the HONOR X7c, we explored what it brings to the table at its price range, including its durable build.
Today, let’s check its gaming performance to see if this entry-level device can keep up.
We’ll test out five popular games and evaluate if the HONOR X7c is a good choice for casual gaming. Let’s get started!
Settings: High Frame Rates, High Graphics
Our first game is always Mobile Legends. Its default settings are set to high frame rates and high graphics. We’ll bump up the graphics quality to ultra and see how well it runs.
When it comes to gaming performance, it ran smoothly with no stutters or frame drops. You can easily play for hours without noticing any problems.
Settings: Quality (60fps)
For League of Legends: Wild Rift, the default settings are set to quality. For custom settings, if you want to play with high graphics quality and resolution, I would suggest sticking to 60 frames.
However, if you want to maximize smoothness, feel free to bump up the frame rate. For our test, we will stick with 60 frames to see if it can run on all max settings.
As for performance, just like Mobile Legends, it runs smoothly. It maintains a consistent 60fps, which is great, and the device never heats up.
Settings: Low Graphics, High Frame Rate
The default settings are set to medium graphics and medium frame rates, although if you want to use a high frame rate, you can only pair it with the lowest graphics quality.
So, we’ll test this combination. As for performance, it did well with only some minor stutters, which are barely noticeable.
The device also feels warm after 30 minutes of gameplay, but to my surprise, even with the lower graphics quality, it still offers decent results.
Settings: Lowest Graphics, 30fps (bumped to 60fps)
Next, let’s move to the heavier titles, Genshin Impact. The settings are set to the lowest available. You can play as is, with some frame drops, but if you prefer smoother gameplay like I do, I would suggest turning up the fps from 30 to 60. In our experience, it was bearable, and we rarely encountered any stutters or frame drops, especially during combat.
The only downside to bumping up your frames is that the device heats up quickly, which may affect the game’s performance.
Settings: Lowest Graphics, 30fps (bumped to 60fps)
Lastly, we have Zenless Zone Zero. Just like Genshin, the settings are set to the lowest with 30 frames. We’ll bump the frames up to 60 and see how well it runs. In terms of performance, it’s not the best.
There were frame drops and stuttering, which is not ideal for a combat-focused game. The device also gets warmer compared to Genshin, which is not good. I would recommend only doing dailies when playing ZZZ on this device, as you might not enjoy most of its content due to performance issues.
For a smartphone priced at PHP8,999, the HONOR X7c offers decent gaming performance for casual players.
While it’s not a powerhouse, it handles light to moderate games well. Plus, the sturdy build quality adds value.
For those interested in heavier titles, however, it may be worth investing in a higher-priced model for an improved experience.
