We’re back with another comparison! In this article, we’re putting two budget-friendly tablets head-to-head, the HONOR Pad X9a vs the REDMI Pad 2.
Both tablets are priced under Php 11,000, but which one offers the best value for money? Let’s find out!
When it comes to design comparison, the REDMI Pad 2 features a two-tone aesthetic with an oval-shaped camera module and a lighter shade accent on the left side.

The HONOR Pad X9a, on the other hand, sports a soft matte finish with a square-shaped camera module for a more minimalist look.
In terms of dimensions, the REDMI Pad 2 is slightly thicker at 7.4mm, while the HONOR Pad X9a comes in thinner at just 6.8mm. It’s also lighter, weighing only 475g compared to REDMI Pad 2’s 519g.

There’s not much to highlight in terms of overall design differences, but when it comes to build, the HONOR Pad X9a takes the win for being slimmer and lighter.
Despite its slimmer body, the HONOR Pad X9a boasts a larger 11.5-inch 2.5K IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1540 x 2508, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 400 nits.

In comparison, the REDMI Pad 2 offers an 11-inch 2.5K IPS LCD screen with a slightly higher resolution of 1600 x 2560, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a brighter peak brightness of 600 nits.
This makes choosing between them a bit easier, depending on your preferences.

If you prefer a smoother refresh rate, the HONOR Pad X9a is the better choice. But if a sharper resolution and brighter screen are more important, then the REDMI Pad 2 takes the lead.
Both tablets are equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

They deliver decent shots with enough detail and sharpness. Both devices can also record video at up to 1080p at 30fps on the front and rear.
Since cameras are usually not the priority when it comes to tablets, we’re calling this category a tie.

The HONOR Pad X9a is powered by a 6nm Snapdragon 685 chipset, while the REDMI Pad 2 runs on the newer MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra.

In comparison, both tablets come with a base storage of 128GB, but the REDMI Pad 2 uses UFS 2.2 storage, which is faster.
For everyday use and multitasking, both perform well. However, thanks to its more modern architecture, the REDMI Pad 2 pulls ahead in performance.
Benchmark Results
The REDMI Pad 2 packs a large 9000mAh battery with 18W charging support, while the HONOR Pad X9a comes with an 8300mAh battery but supports faster 35W charging.

Despite the faster charging of the HONOR Pad X9a, the larger capacity of the REDMI Pad 2 gives it the edge in this category.

The REDMI Pad 2 is priced at PHP11,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and PHP13,999 for the 8GB+256GB option.

Meanwhile, the HONOR Pad X9a is more affordable at PHP10,999 for the 6GB+128GB configuration.

To sum it up:

If you’re looking for the most performance and display quality, even at a slightly higher price, the REDMI Pad 2 is the better option.
But if you’re on a tight budget and want more value, especially if it comes bundled with a keyboard, then the HONOR Pad X9a is an excellent choice.
