We are back with another experiential review, and in this article, we are going to test out one of HONOR’s latest offerings in the budget-friendly market, the HONOR 600S.
We will be using this device as our daily driver, and here are our thoughts.
Design and Build
Okay, first, let’s talk about the design and build. There is nothing fancy or new about its overall appearance. It has a simple look that is common in the smartphone market.

When it comes to its dimensions, it does feel a bit heavy. It weighs 216 grams and has a thickness of 8.3mm. During long sessions, you will definitely feel some strain, though it is still comfortable to hold since the frame has a slightly soft finish.

Now, there is a reason why this device has a chunky build, and that is because it packs a huge battery. Another notable feature of its build is its durability. This device comes with an IP68, IP69, and IP69K rating, making it a solid and durable device.
Display
The HONOR 600S boasts a 6.87-inch IPS LCD screen with a 720p resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
Honestly, when it comes to its display, we were quite disappointed. Given its price tag, they could have at least provided a Full HD+ resolution.

So, if you are coming from an AMOLED phone, you will definitely notice the difference. However, for everyday use like social media browsing and watching YouTube videos, the display is still perfectly usable. Personally, we would still prefer an AMOLED screen, especially at this price point.
Camera
The HONOR 600S is equipped with a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera and an auxiliary lens. Up front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter.
As for the quality of its rear camera, when it comes to daylight photography, it produces good images that are sharp, vibrant, and full of detail. The color reproduction is also good, but there are times when it struggles to properly balance highlights.
Honestly, we were impressed with how the rear camera performed. The images it produces are already social media-worthy.
Now, when it comes to low-light photography, the HONOR 600S struggles to produce good images. Although it can brighten up photos, there are times when you will notice light flares and softness around the edges. We would recommend using its dedicated Night Mode to achieve better results.
For selfie photography, we think the images it captures are decent. The HDR processing is good, with crisp details, true-to-life skin tones, and sharp results. However, we would recommend avoiding situations where the natural light source is behind you, as the output can become soft and the colors may look washed out.
As for video recording, both the rear and front cameras can shoot at 1080p resolution at 30fps.
Performance
Under the hood, the HONOR 600S is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. Our review unit comes with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

If you are not a power user, this phone is a solid device for everyday use. It can handle light tasks, social media browsing, and even binge-watching your favorite shows.
However, you cannot really use it for heavy multitasking, as you will experience slowdowns and performance issues.

For gaming, titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile are playable on this device. Although there are noticeable stutters and frame drops, they are not too prominent.

Battery
The HONOR 600S is packed with an 8,100mAh battery capacity paired with 45W fast charging.

The other day, we tracked its battery performance. We took a photo of its current battery level, and it was at 63% at 4:57 AM. After four hours, the battery was down to 42%. During that time, we only used the device for taking photos, a bit of gaming, and some light productivity.
As casual users, its battery performance lasted us up to two days.
Price
The HONOR 600S is priced at PHP 19,999 for the 8GB + 256GB configuration.

Verdict
Overall, the HONOR 600S feels kind of lackluster. Given its price range, they could have added more features that would make this device more competitive in its category.
Would we recommend it? Probably not. There are other options in the market that offer more at the same price point.
Although HONOR is known for its durable devices, we think that alone is not enough to justify its price.
As a main device, it is not the best option. However, if you are looking for a secondary phone that offers a durable build and strong battery life, then the HONOR 600S is not a bad choice.
That is our experience with the HONOR 600S. What are your thoughts about this device? Let us know in the comments below.
