The Sony Xperia XA of last year was Sony’s take on defining the mid-range lineup. The device was pretty good overall but just like other Sony handsets, it’s pricey.
Fast forward to today, various leaks of alleged Sony Xperia XA 2 or XB seem to be popping out consistently but with no official announcement from the company, especially as Mobile World Congress is just around the corner.

Well, for now, here’s what you need to know about Sony Xperia XA 2 or Sony Xperia XB.
Even the name is not yet official so we will call it XA 2 or XB, for now.
The Xperia XA 2 was first spotted back in December on CAD renders. The design inherits the current flagship Xperia XZ. It’s got that rounded edges and flat bottoms. Also, the micro USB port has been replaced with a USB Type-C port, as it becomes more of a standard for mid-range handsets. Despite the Xperia XZ footprint, the dedicated rounded power indicates that it won’t be having a fingerprint scanner.

January 2017, another set of leaked photos came out. The alleged official-looking promotional posters present the Xperia XA 2 in red, purple and navy blue colors.
Aside from that, the similar design found on the first leak seem to be true.
A couple of weeks after that, a video circulated online mentioning the XA 2 with a 23MP main camera. That’s the first info regarding the specs. And unfortunately, the video has been kept to private.
And now, the alleged Xperia XA2 just passed FCC. While it does not really reveal anything about it, it just made itself closer to unveiling before the MWC event.
Rumor has it that Xperia XA2 is a 5.0-inch device with MediaTek Helio P20 under its hood, paired with 4GB RAM. The 23MP f/2.0 main camera will go along with 16MP f/2.2 selfie snapper. It was also tipped to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
As for the price, expect around $320USD or Php16,000 Philippine peso.
