LTO has changed their guidelines and requirements for getting a Student Driver Permit application as well as renewing the Non-Pro and Professional Driver’s License starting in August for the year 2020.
This guide is concise and complete for an easy step-by-step process along with a list of all requirements for new applications and renewal applications of LTO Driver’s License.
Student Driver Permit Application Requirements – What to bring and submit?
- Authorized SPA from parents authorizing their minor children (18-year-old below) with a minimum of 16 years old
- TIN number from BIR (get a request slip or form from LTO for easy application before going to BIR)
- Birth Certificate from NSO (original and photocopy)
- Valid ID with signature (school ID or government-issued)
- Marriage contract from NSO for married women (original and photocopy)
- Medical Certificate
- TDC or Theoretical Driver Course of 15-hour training accredited by LTO (costs P2,000.00 to P4,000.00 pesos)
- Fill up the Application form for Driver’s License from LTO
Note: Appointment slip and schedule are required for some LTO offices (check or call first your desired office of application if walk-ins are allowed)
Converting and Applying from Student Permit into Non-Professional Driver’s License Requirements (SDP to NPDL)
- At least 1-month-old valid Student Permit
- Medical Certificate
- TIN Number
- PDC or Practical Driving Course 8-hour from LTO accredited offices (P3,000.00 to P5,000.00 pesos)
- Filled up and accomplished Application form for Driver’s License from LTO
- Pass the written and practical exam
Note: Different examinations for higher restriction codes.
Converting and Applying from Student Permit into Professional Driver’s License Requirements (SDP to PDL)
- At least 6 months old valid Student Permit
- Medical Certificate
- TIN Number
- PDC or Practical Driving Course 8-hour training from LTO accredited offices
- Filled up and accomplished Application form for Driver’s License
- Pass the written and practical exam
