Globe Tattoo New Data Plans, No More Unlimited DSL Offering

After Globe and Smart offered volume based data plans on mobile phone data last year, users started to become mindful of the items they download online.

And now, this offer has already been adapted to DSL as well. As Globe Tattoo enters the pay per bucket system, it will have a new subscription offering which removes the daily data cap and junks unlimited plans. The new permanent offer of Tattoo Home Broadband Plans will offer fix data quantity per month ranging from 10GB to 500GB.

Data allocation of 10GB will be given to entry level subs Plan 999 and Plan 1099 (available in LTE only), while 500GB of data allocation per month with a top sped of 150Mbps will be given to Plan 9999.

The fixed data allocation per month will depend on the plan the user will choose as shown in the table above.

Once the user used up the data allowance, the subscribed speed of the Internet connection will be throttled down to 64kbps. If they wish to go back to their subscribed plan speed, a Volume Boost Add-On can be purchased on top of base plan data allowance in order to continue browsing at subscribed plan speed. Note though that this feature is available for LTE subscribers only.

The Volume Boost Add-on is affordably priced:

Here is the following number of simultaneous users recommended per plan:

Consumption

In checking Internet usage, users will be notified via SMS and E-mail once 50%, 80%, and 100% of data allowance were reached, and will also be notified with a maximum of thrice a day on data consumption.

Starting on March 12, new subscribers can avail of the new plans which comes with built-in entertainment pack, free landline and unlimited landline calls to any Globe or TM number, free WiFi modem and Data allowance.

The old have been phased out and are no longer available, but existing subscribers will continue to follow the old plans and can still avail the new plans by upgrade or downgrade policy. Existing subscribers will not be forced or automatically migrated to new plans. Users can no longer upgrade to old plan but may only upgrade to the new Tattoo Home Broadband plans or Basic Bundles.

This newly implemented plans imply bigger data consumption and will in no doubt be a tough load for average subscriber since DSL lines are mostly used for personal computers and laptops.

  1. This is stupidity… pure capitalism even when they offer unli data plan you’ll get 76bytes/sec speed but the consumption on your data limiter moves by 100 MBps even not using your internet

  2. Anong katarantaduhan na naman yan? That is Bullshit… panibagong panloloko naman ng GLOBE ang kakapal ng mukha. 500GB almost 10k?.. FUCK! look at the countries surround us, they not even reach the half of that amount to get the speed they want without limit. Philippines consumers for internet and data has the most expensive cost among the other countries.

  3. i already called in globe all of the old plan not affected in this offer if u upgrade or change your plan you will avail thgis offer… i hope this is true that all of the old not affected.

  4. Imagine ha:

My Plan 999, (DSL Only, no landline)
I get 3MBPS bandwith speed and a daily cap of 7GB
    Thats 210GB a month.

So people who are looking to get the same priced subscription:
999 for 2 MBPS bandwith speed and a MONTHLY CAP OF 10GB!!!
That’s just hardly 2 days worth of what it used to be! and 1 MBPS slower!!

And to think they crossed out some of the services below, I don’t get what they mean by that checklist but audio, video streaming gone? online gaming gone? music downloads gone? movie downloads gone? What?

The Philippines really needs new ISPs, but if these assholes offer payrolls to people inside the NTC… ano na future natin?

  5. Uhh… I actually applied for Tattoo yesterday and they still have unlimited plans. What gave you the idea they don’t have it anymore? This is a new offer, the person in the store told me.
