Apple’s long-awaited iOS 16 release date has been scheduled for September 12, 2022, after yesterday’s announcement of the iPhone 14.
The public beta of iOS 16 was announced in July 2022, following its initial announcement on June 6, 2022, at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2022.

Several changes and improvements have been made to the lock screen in the latest version of iOS, including the ability to add widgets, more incredible personalization options, and a new way to display notifications. Messages may now be edited and unsent, there’s a new iCloud Shared Photo Library where up to five people can exchange photos, and Live Text can be used to extract text from films and photographs, among other enhancements.
The release of iOS 16 this September 12 is exceptionally timed to the official announcement and release of iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
