Garmin has recently unveiled its latest smartwatch series with an efficient battery life thanks to its solar charging technology – the Garmin Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S.
The smartwatch comes in two sizes – a 45 mm diameter for the base model and a 40mm for the Instinct 2S units for smaller wrists. There’s also a non-solar version available in both sizes.
The Garmin Instinct 2 series sports a pixel resolution of 176 x 176 and a 0.9-inch by 0.9-inch square display for the 45mm models, while the 40mm variant has 0.79-inch by 0.79-inch display. In addition, the series also use monochrome transflective memory-in-pixel LCDs for legibility and battery efficiency.
There’s also a Garmin Connect IQ store in the smartwatches, allowing the user to download apps and widgets to customize for exercise and work needs. Other features include the aforementioned new solar panel, and heart rate sensor.
Moreover, the Instinct 2 series supports Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, as well as satellite positioning systems such as GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, along with Altimeter, Barometer, and Compass sensors.
The Garmin Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S smartwatches are priced starting at USD 349.99 (~PHP 17,943).
