The Armed Forces of the Philippines have approved the construction of Dito cell site towers to its military bases this was after the department approved the application of the 3rd telco player.
There were security concerns before the AFP have approved but some experts advised the chief of the military and finally greenlit the application of Dito.
Like PLDT and Globe, Dito Telecommunity will construct additional towers inside the bases of AFP. This is better to some areas as the AFP offers security against militants that previously destroyed some towers of Globe and Smart.
Positioning-wise, more areas will be covered too and Dito could further serve more people once they start their operation in March 2021.
The 3rd telco player will have its technical launch by January 2021 and promises up to 37% coverage and 27 Mbps average internet speed on its first year of operation.
On the other hand, Globe and Smart have started activating 5G cell towers in Metro Manila and other areas of the Philippines. Now Telecom is also offering up to 2Gbps internet for its business customers.
