The PhilSys National ID will soon be made accessible for download on mobile devices, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). DICT Plans to Release a National ID Mobile App
Filipinos must obtain a digital version (ePhilID) or a physical copy to take advantage of the federal ID benefits. But the DICT will also make it available on mobile devices by the beginning of 2023.
How You Can Track the Delivery of Your PhilSys National Id
Despite delays in the manufacture and distribution of the physical cards, officials from the DICT and Philippine Statistical Authority (PSA) claimed that this is another way for the PhilSys ID to be more accessible.
According to National Statistician Dennis Mapa, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is the organization in charge of printing the cards (BSP). They can print between 80,000 and 100,000 national ID cards daily, and the BSP is striving to increase output to 130,000 per day to speed up the process.
Before 2022 concludes, the PSA intends to provide 50 million IDs. 30 million physical cards, and 20 million through ePhilID. Filipinos have received 22 million PhilSys ID cards thus far. On the other hand, about 2 million ePhilIDs had been printed as of this writing.
