The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year partnership to introduce more artificial intelligence (AI) tools into government services.
Under the program, government employees will gain access to AI tools such as Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace. These tools can help public servants find information, prepare reports, analyze data, and complete administrative tasks more efficiently.

DICT also plans to develop AI assistants that citizens can interact with through text or voice in local languages.
More than 50,000 government workers are expected to receive access to the AI tools initially. The government aims to expand this to over 200,000 public servants within the next 18 months.
The partnership also includes cybersecurity efforts. DICT’s Cybersecurity Bureau has formed a cyber defense alliance supported by Google Cloud.

According to DICT, these initiatives are part of the government’s broader digital transformation plans under the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028.
