Corning Incorporated recently debuted its latest second-generation protective cover — the Corning Gorilla Armor 2 — featured on the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The Corning Gorilla Armor 2 incorporates a glass ceramic cover material, which is said to be scratch-resistant and anti-reflective.
Compared to the first-generation Gorilla Armor cover found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Gorilla Armor 2 blends outstanding durability with sharp display quality. The brand also said that it dramatically reduces surface reflections in both indoor and outdoor ambient settings. This technology is featured on the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display.
Moreover, “in various lighting conditions,” the anti-reflective qualities “can enhance the display contrast ratio.” Additionally, the Gorilla Armor 2 is “over four times” more scratch-resistant than “competitive lithium-aluminosilicate cover glasses with an anti-reflective coating.”
The Gorilla Armor 2 withstood drops of up to 2.2 meters on concrete-like surfaces, according to Corning’s lab testing, whereas other materials failed at one meter.
Samsung said that its partnership with Corning keeps pushing the boundaries of display performance to satisfy the constantly shifting demands of customers worldwide.
