BIR Issues Warning Against Online Sale of TIN Cards

Illegal Online Sale of TIN Cards

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has once again emphasized its advisory to the public, cautioning against purchasing Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) and TIN cards from unauthorized sellers operating online.

The BIR has taken action against several individuals engaged in the illegal sale of these documents and has effectively blocked such unauthorized transactions.

It is important to note that all services related to TIN cards are provided free of charge directly by the bureau, and there is no requirement for involving third parties.

Those found selling unauthorized TIN assistance services will face appropriate penalties, as outlined by the BIR.

To ensure compliance, the BIR urges the public to exclusively transact with authorized revenue personnel at the Revenue District Office (RDO) with jurisdiction over their respective places of residence.

Furthermore, the public is encouraged to report any individuals involved in the illegal sale of TIN or TIN ID by reaching out to the BIR via their hotline number (02) 8538-3200 or through email at [email protected].
