Tech giants showed off their latest tech innovations during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, and we’ve seen powerful gaming laptops, surprisingly thin laptops, laptops with amazing battery life, and so on. And in case you’re wondering what are the impressive laptops unveiled during the event, here is Manila Shaker’s list to help you out.

Acer Swift 7

Acer brought three new laptops to show off at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas. One of the three is an 8.9mm laptop which Acer claims to be the world’s thinnest laptop, the Swift 7.

The Acer Swift 7 comes with a 14-inch display and with Full HD resolution. It is powered by seventh-generation Core i7 processor, along with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD storage, and runs on Windows 10. It also features fingerprint reader through Windows Hello. The display uses IPS5 technology, Acer Color Intelligence, and a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen. And oh, it also packs a backlit keyboard. It has integrated 4G LTE connectivity, which is actually rare in laptops.

The new Swift 7 will be available in the market starting March with a starting price tag of $1,699.

Dell XPS 13

The company will be introducing the XPS 13 laptop with a fresh design and this laptop comes with a near bezel-less 13-inch InfinityEdge display that fits in an 11-inch frame. t’s powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i5 (Core i5-8250U) or and Core i7 (Core i7-8550U) processors.and comes with 4K display. The company also claims that it can give up to 30 hours of battery backup of FULL HD resolution and up to 11 hours of backup of UHD resolution.

It weighs only 1.22kg which makes the Dell XPS 13 one of the lightest laptops in the market. It supports USB Type-A to USB Type-C adaptor. In addition, it also has voice, touch, face recognition, and also works with Windows Hello. The Dell XPS 13 runs on Windows 10.

The laptop comes with a price tag of $999.99.

Lenovo Thinkpad X380, X280

Lenovo has announced some of their new devices. The company has introduced slimmer and lighter designs that all come with Intel’s  8th generation core processors and new physical webcam cameras, the ThinkPad X along with a new docking station and monitors.

Lenovo’s new laptops also support facial recognition in Windows Hello with IR cameras, it has USB Type-C power adapters and a new slide-to-connect docking system designed to work with 12-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch ThinkPad laptops.

The new ThinkPad X series consists of X280 and X380 Yoga, which are designed for durability. ThinkPad X380 Yoga convertible features a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen display and a 360-degree hinge. It is powered by up to Core i7 processor with vPro tech, 16GB RAM and up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage. Also, it has up to 13.6 hours battery life and supports rapid-charge which can fuel the battery up to 80% in an hour.

The 12.5-inch X280 is 20% lighter and 15% thinner than its predecessor, weighing 2.5lb and coming in at 17.4mm thick. It also can be fueled up to 80% in just an hour and have a battery life of up to 16.6 hours.

Lenovo Miix 630

Lenovo unveiled the Miix 630x, a 2 in 1 detachable tablet/laptop hybrid that’s similar to the company’s previous Miix tablets. It’s powered by Qualcomm‘ Snapdragon 835 chipset.

This new Lenovo notebook comes with a 12.3-inch Full HD display and 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, paired with 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and storage options up to 256GB. It features a detachable keyboard and slightly looks similar to the Thinkpad laptops in design. The upside down is, it only has a single USB-C port, so you won’t be able to connect up multiple accessories and charge at the same time. It also features facial recognition through Windows Hello. Lenovo is promising 20 hours of battery life for the Miix 630.

The company is planning to release the said notebook with stylus and keyboard attachment to the market by Q2 with a price tag of $799.

MSI GE63 Raider RGB Edition

MSI’s latest laptop, the GE63 Raider RGB Edition has over 24 million colors that can be displayed on both the keyboard and on parts of the laptop’s lid.

The laptop is powered by Intel Core i7 CPU, but MSI hasn’t mentioned on what generation it is. It also will come with up to 32GB of RAM and either a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070 GPU. The 15.6-inch display will come in both 4K and 1080p configurations.

There’s no pricing information, but we can expect it in Q2 of this year.
