The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 just launched today in the Philippines. Similar to its standard model, the newly launched smartphone was deemed a “Battery King” as well.

As expected, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 contains higher specs compared to the Asus ZenFone Max M1. The question is, is it worth paying Php 1,000 more in order to purchase the more upgraded version? What are the differences and similarities between the two? Let’s find out here.

Asus Zenfone Max M1 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Similarities

We’ll start off with Asus Zenfone Max M1 that features a 5.5-inch screen display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and 720 x 1440 screen resolution. On the other hand, its upgraded version sports a larger screen with a 5.99″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and an aspect ratio of 18:9 ratio. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 has a better resolution as well.

It seems that the company also upgraded the ZenFone Max Pro M1’s hardware specs. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 636 along with an Adreno 509 GPU. Meanwhile, the Asus ZenFone Max M1 only sports the Snapdragon 430 along with the Adreno 505 GPU. Asus also included more storage variants on the ZenFone Max Pro M1. It now has three variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. As for the Zenfone Max M1, it offers 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage. Both of the smartphone’s storage is expandable via a microSD card.

For the camera department, both phones feature a dual camera setup with Asus Zenfone Max M1 sporting a 13 MP + 8MP main camera. Although the standard model of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 13MP + 5MP rear camera, its 6GB RAM variant has a 16MP + 5MP main camera. In regards to their front camera, both devices contain an 8MP camera lens although the ZenFone Max Pro M1 features an LED flash on the selfie snapper. In addition, its 6GB RAM variant has a 16 MP front snapper with an LED flash.

The two smartphones are known as “Battery Kings” so it’s a given that they will be fueled by a large battery. The Asus ZenFone Max M1 contains a 4,000mAh battery. In order to up their game, Asus gave the ZenFone Max Pro M1 an even larger battery of 5,000mAh.

As you can see, with just a Php 1,000 difference between their prices, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 includes a lot of upgrades. This might actually be a good deal although the decision is still up to you.
